Shocking footage from 2010 of a young man in psychological distress (and possible withdrawal) who asked for police protection but later died after being brutally battered by a crack six-man police unit caused shockwaves across Belgium on Friday.
The man was taken to a psychiatric clinic but once there refused to be locked up and threatened the officers and medical staff with violence and so the clinic refused to take him in and the officers drove the young man, who by then had been stripped naked, to a police station where he was locked in a tiny cell about 10 feet square.
The country has been in uproar since the video was released. The Belgian public has demanded for the immediate arrest and trial of one of the specialist police officers involved who can clearly be seen to land several heavy blows on the man, even though he is subdued and restrained.
Earlier this month, the Belgian judiciary ruled that the head of the clinic and the psychiatrist who refused to take the man in should be tried along with the officer responsible for the fatal blows. Updates to follow.

People don't have much of an opinion about this kind of shit until it happens to them or someone they know. Just terrible to think that this happens by people who are employed to protect us.
Absolutely correct, well said amigo and I couldn't agree more. It behooves us to weed out these tyrannous bastards before it's too late and they infect those lower in their ranks with their illegal and hideous ideologies.
